Baha'i Faith on Singapore stamps

In commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of Singapore's Inter-Religious Organization, a body formed to promote peace, understanding and good will among people of different faiths, three specially-designed stamps were issued in January 1999, depicting nine of the major religions in Singapore. The Baha'i Faith was honored through its inclusion.

The person marked x at the center of the group is the aged Afnan who supervised the building of Mashriqu'l-Adhkar in Ishkabad, Russia. As soon as it was finished he was called to Acca by 'Abdu'l-Baha to remain the balance of his days.

The first Baha'i of Hawaiian ancestry

Mrs. Mary Fantom has the distinction of being the first Baha'i of Hawaiian blood. She was affectinately known as Auntie May. She was a long time resident of Maui and closely associated with Hand of the Cause Agnes Alexander. This photograph was taken on Auntie May's ninety-first birthday.
